Systematics The type-species of Pseudophassus Pfitzner, 1914 was examined by Carlos Mielke, and the ♂ genitalia show that this genus is clearly distinct and unique. The genus was therefore re-instated by Mielke & Grehan (2012). Future chracterization of the genitalia for the two described species will be necessary to delineate their individual characteristics and recognize any other member species.
Biology Larvae are probably callus-feeding borers in live stems or branchs of trees or shrubs.
